No piano technician works alone, even when it feels that way. Every piano we open carries the work of the people who cared for it before us: a tuner’s date pencilled on a key, a set of hammers someone shaped by hand, a soundboard someone brought back to life. Here on the Front Range, many of those hands belonged to a small group of colleagues who gave decades to Colorado’s pianos.
Several of them have recently retired, stepped back, or moved on. We wanted to say thank you, by name, and to let the families, teachers, and churches who relied on them know that their pianos are welcome here.
With Gratitude
Our thanks go to Richard Capp, RPT, of Richard Capp Piano Tuning in Boulder; to Chris Finger of Chris Finger Pianos in Niwot, whose shop trained a generation of Front Range rebuilders; to Barth Story, a longtime rebuilder at the Finger shop; to Hank Lea of Colorado Piano Works in Loveland; and to Joel Weber, formerly of Colorado Piano Care in Loveland and now Weber Piano Care in Washington State. Between them, they cared for pianos from Denver all the way up to Fort Collins, and sometimes far beyond.
We have written a little more about each of them, and about the work they did, on a page of its own:

Continuing Care for Your Piano
If your piano was cared for by one of these technicians and you are wondering who to call next, we would be glad to help. We will take the time to get to know your instrument and the work that has already gone into it before we recommend anything. Renaissance Piano Service is based in Lafayette and serves the Front Range from Denver to Fort Collins.
Call (303) 521-3722 or contact us, and let us know whose care your piano was in before.
